This Screening of The LEGO Movie Will Make You Feel Like a Kid Again

Have you missed out on George H. W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum’s Summer Film Series? If so, now is your final chance to attend for 2019. The last— but certainly not least— movie of this year’s series will be The LEGO Movie. Join us on Friday, September 27th and enjoy this highly hilarious animation with family and friends!

In the ordinary city of Bricksburg, a place where everything is awesome lives an ordinary Lego named Emmet Brickowski. However, Emmet’s mundane routine is thrown off one day when he meets WyldStyle, who soon informs him that he is “The Special,” and he is the key to saving the world. Does Emmet meet the expectations set for him, or is he just an imposter?

This movie is being shown in conjunction with the newest exhibit at the Bush Library and Museum, "Wit and Humor: American Political Cartoons." This exhibit explores how cartoons have changed since the early days of the Republic. Throughout the exhibit, important cartoons from artists regarded as giants in their field, like Thomas Nast and Patrick Oliphant are highlighted.

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs as we enjoy this film under the stars. Games and free refreshments will begin at 7 p.m., and the movie will start just after sundown. You may bring your coolers, but please no pets or glass containers. For more information, please call (979) 691-4014.
