A Parade, Live Music, and More Make This Independence Day Celebration Worth Checking Out
Spend your Independence Day in an old-timey environment! Each year, Brazos Heritage Society presents an Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration in the Park. What began as a neighborhood 4th of July celebration in the Eastside Historic District has developed into the more formal 4th of July in Heritage Park, a free community event put on by the Brazos Heritage Society. Don’t miss it this Thursday!
This morning event features a flag raising and tribute by The Sojourners, a children’s parade, a live band, refreshments at old-fashioned prices, and several exhibitor booths put up by other local non-profit groups in Brazos County. Exhibitors are typically area non-profits such as the BV Museum of Natural History, the BV African American Museum, and the Museum of the American GI.
Located in Brazos Valley, the Brazos Heritage Society is dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of Brazos County, specifically to identify, document, and preserve the architecture and historical context of Brazos County and promote the community’s appreciation of its history through advocacy and educational programs.
Don red, white, and blue when you join this event for Independence Day! Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration in the Park is suitable for all ages and is free to attend. For more information about the event and Brazos Heritage Society, visit www.brazosheritage.org.
