Take Your Friday Evening to New Heights with a Little Country Rock Music
Some call him a “loose cannon.” Others a “live wire.” On Twitter he’s both, but he’s mostly passionate. Passionate about taco trucks, love, and making great and brutally honest music. And the artist named Rich O’Toole makes no apologies.
His newest project, Brightwork: A Manifesto by Rich O’Toole, is another installment of his truth. “All these songs are based on my ex-girlfriend, going through what we had to go through, splitting our ways after five years,” he explains. “And it was so hard. Writing the music and performing and making this record was my own version of therapy to get these thoughts and emotions out of my head and heart.”
A Red Dirt country singer with a flair for gleaming arena rock, Rich O’Toole built a regional following in his native Texas during the course of the late 2000s and early 2010s. A native of Houston, he began playing music in high school but started taking it seriously while attending Texas A&M.
After playing a series of parties and clubs, Rich O’Toole independently released Seventeen in 2007, and the debut earned enough attention that he hopped over to Smith Music Group for 2008’s In a Minute or 2, which was produced by Mack Damon and was released on 10 million walkman’s in Japan.
In 2013 he launched his own label, PTO, which debuted with his fourth album, Brightwork. O’Toole headed out to Los Angeles after its release, and that’s where he wrote the bulk of Jaded, which came out in 2014 at #10 on the Country Music iTunes Chart. Now, his release of Brightwork: A Manifesto puts him back on the road, performing live shows for adoring audiences countrywide. Don’t miss him when he makes his way to College Station on September 7th!
