Pep Up Tuesday Evening Plans with This Unique, South African Choir

The two-time Grammy Award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir has been spreading joy to audiences across the globe for nearly two decades! Comprised of 20 of the best artists in South Africa, the choir invites you to celebrate the incomparable and inspirational power of African Gospel music during a special performance on Tuesday, October 30th.

The uplifting Soweto Gospel Choir have shared the stage with some of the biggest names in music including U2, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Robert Plant, Celine Dion, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Josh Groban. For their new tour, the SOWETO GOSPEL CHOIR will perform “Songs of the Free,” a rousing program celebrating the centenary of the birth of the father of their Rainbow Nation, Nelson Mandela.

Soweto Gospel Choir is an Ambassador for Nelson Mandela’s 46664 campaign and has performed at the Cape Town, Johannesburg, London and New York concerts with artists such as Peter Gabriel, Bono, Queen, Jimmy Cliff, Johnny Clegg, Eddie Grant Amy Winehouse, Queen Latifah, Wyclef Jean, Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder. They are also Ambassadors for SHOUT, 1Goal, United Nation’s MDG Envoys for Africa and Interpol’s “Proud to Be” campaign.

Soweto Gospel Choir has founded its own AIDS orphans foundation, Nkosi’s Haven Vukani, to assist organizations that receive little or no funding. To date, the choir has collected over R5million for their foundation. In South Africa, the choir performs for a variety of charitable organizations.
